WordPress 2.7 Will Be Released Today

WordPress 2.7 is about to be released on WordPress.com. The new WordPress will go live today the December 4, 2008 at 8pm Eastern Time. I am really excited to try out WordPress 2.7 as you know the new version had a complete facelift along with a lot of additional features.
The new WordPress is supposed to improve user experience because of its extensive use of JavaScript. Which means modules and features will load way faster then its predecessors. And apparently (but not surprisingly) the new WordPress will work better in latest Firefox version 3 and Google Chrome. There you go, IE has been left out again. And because of the extensive use of JavaScript, users have been asked to use the latest browser and to make sure the JavaScript is turned on their browser to get the optimal experience.
A note on browser capabilities: WordPress 2.7 makes extensive use of JavaScript to create the user experience outlined here. If you have JavaScript turned off in your browser, some features may not be available or may work a bit differently than described here. In addition, using a recent standards-compliant browser will ensure that you have an optimal experience. Older browsers that are not supported by their manufacturers any longer may not look as expected; we recommend Firefox 3 and Google Chrome.
We’ll see how the performance differs once we get to test it real time. You can check the full features list on WordPress.com.
