SEO Tips
We all know how important SEO is for a website. Whether it is a website for your products or services or your blog, we all want our websites to be found in the Search Engines Result Pages (SERPs) and we want them to be found at the top of the list. Research shows 95% of the web traffics come from the first five positions of search engine results. And Google being dominating the market share, we obviously know where all those traffic come from. And if you can optimize your site properly for Google, I can assure you that your site will do very well on other search engines.
I personally don’t count on (I hardly know anyone who does) traffic from other search engines anymore. I consider MSN/Live being dead and Yahoo! is shrinking day by day as well. Yahoo! sends close to no traffic these days. One of my blogs ranks in the first 6 positions in Yahoo! for all my targeted keywords and still I get a very little traffic from it. I know what you’re thinking, you might be thinking may be no one is searching for those keywords. Wrong! Just to give you a hint, one of the keywords receive 9+ million searches a month in Google. So there’s a damn good demand out there. But I still don’t want to throw away whatever traffic I receive from Yahoo and other search engines. I take those as bonus!
Anyway, as I said earlier, if you do it right for Google, you’ll automatically be doing it right for other search engines. So, concentrating on Search Engine Optimization to “Google standards” will cover all other avenues.
From here on I’ll be writing Search Engine Optimization tips which if followed properly then may give you good results. I said “may” because no one can guarantee any deadlock solutions when it comes to SEO. We all follow the rules and get rewarded for those, let’s put it that way.
