How To Add Signature to Your RSS Feed

If you ever thought of adding your own signature at the bottom of your RSS feed and wondered how to do that then you’ve come to the right place :). Customized RSS signatures are great for offering special content to your registered users or RSS subscribers. If you ever wanted to give something away to your regular website readers such as an E-Book then adding a link to your book or special content on your RSS feed is the best way of doing it. And doing so isn’t that hard at all. You can set it up in less than 5 minutes.

RSS Signature

For wordpress bloggers adding customized RSS signature is just a matter of  installing a plugin and customizing it. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Download this sig2feed plugin
  2. Unzip it and upload it to the wp-content/plugins/ folder on your server
  3. Now login to your blog and activate the plugin from the Plugins section on the administration area
  4. Once activated, go to Manage->RSS Signature to modify the signature

That’s it! I told you it was very simple. The signature plugin allows HTML/CSS which means you can modify the look and feel of the signature. Use in line CSS along with HTML to change the style and to make this area unique so that it stands out from your RSS content giving this section more visibility to your readers. Here’s an Example:

Once you’ve made the changes, tick the “Enable custom RSS Signature and display in RSS feeds?” options and hit Update Options and you’re all set!
