Search Engine Giant Google has brought another iPhone application or rather added another very useful feature to its Mobile Application for iPhone & iPod Touch. The sophisticated voice recognition technology now allows users to speak to the iPhone to search for someting rather than typing. Once a voice query is made, the sound gets converted into a digital file and sent to Google’s servers, which then determines the words spoken and pass them along to the Google search engine and display the results back to the users.

Users can not only search for a simple keyword like “Pizza”, they can also ask a full question like “What is the capital of Australia?”. Watch the video demonstration below:

I’ve used the application and I’ve to admit, it’s very accurate. And the best thing about this app is that you don’t have to hold down any section of the screen like other voice recognition app available for iPhone. Just take your iPhone close to your ear like you’re talking to someone and the app will automatically detect that using the motion censor technology and make a beep sound for you to say your query or question. After that another beep sound will determine the end of your query and process the search and return the seach result withing few seconds. Again, very accurate and fast at the same time.

The app also uses the location based technology to return search results which are appropriate for your location. Now we’ll just wait and see when Google ads this great app to its own mobile operating system Android. You can also check out the full review here: Google Voice Search is Finally Here.
