Google Introduces Customized Themes for Gmail

November 20, 2008 · Filed Under Google, News & Reviews

GmailJust logged in to my Gmail account to see a notification on Customized themes for Gmail. Which obviously changes the look and feel of the inside your Gmail account, much like iGoogle. But looks like this features isn’t available to all Gmail users. I’ve couple of Gmail accounts and I can only see one of them has gotten this feature so far. If this feature has been activated for you then you’ll see a notification as soon as you log into your Gmail.

If you don’t see anything then that means this feature hasn’t been activated for you as yet. Just to confirm, go to Settings from the top right corner of your Gmail account and see if any of the tabs under settings read “Themes”. This should normally be the last tab. If you can’t see anything then wait till you receive the notification.

The most interesting thing is some themes changes depending on your location. So when you try to set any of those location based themes it asks to set your default location first. Very interesting I thought.
