Why is Google PageRank (PR) Important?

There’s so much talk about PageRank not being as important as it used to be. Well, I too agree to it to a degree but not entirely. And the reason for this article is to tell you why I don’t agree.
We know Google analyzes 200+ elements of a webpage while crawling and returning a result for a given search term and PageRank is one of them. While PR may not be the only player that Google considers most but it is still the most important player of all. Why? Soon you’ll find out.
Addon Domain Redirection
I recently created couple of Addon Domains on my newly hosted account. Right after I added them from the cPanel I realized anyone can access them in a few different ways. As you know Addon domain works similar to your subdomains, so you can access them exactly the same way you can access your subdomains. The main difference between Addon domain and sub domain is that Addon domain works independently like any other domain.
Cuil - Google Killer or Just another Cuil (cool) kid in the block?!?
A new Search Engine named Cuil (pronounced Cool) has gone live today with 120 billion (121,617,892,992 web pages to be more specific) indexed web pages, which is triple the amount of Google and Ten times more than Microsoft. So what’s so special about this search engine that got people talking about it? We’ve seen many search engines come and go. Is there anything special about this new search engine that may give search technology an all new direction? Well, not many people trend to think so. If you’ve started thinking it as Google rival then you’re not wrong but you’re not right either. You’re not wrong because Cuil is the brainchild of former Google architect and technical lead Anna Patterson. Anna was the architect of Google’s large search index, TeraGoogle and the technical lead of one of the two Web ranking groups at Google. So you see, the trend of making change is there. Why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is important?
A leading online research company (Forrester Research) estimated that e-commerce or online sales will reach $316 billion in 2010, or 13% of all retail sales. And as you may know the internet ad is predicted to surpass TV ads in UK this year and in the years to come. According to a forecast by Enders Analysis, the Internet will overtake television as the biggest advertising medium in Britain this year, with over 19 percent of total ad spend. And this is not going to stop in UK, the other countries will soon follow this trend as well. So be prepared and get ready for it.
