Anyway, just today I was wondering how many websites are there with PageRank 10 (out of 10) as of Google’s last PageRank update. To my surprise I’ve found only 3. A few of the PageRank 10 websites like Adobe have lost their PageRank 10 position. Here’re the 3 sites with PageRank 10:

Why is Google PageRank (PR) Important?
I am sure you know what Google PageRank is and exactly how it works. But if you think you need to quickly refresh your memory then please check out “What is Google PageRank or PR?“.
There’s so much talk about PageRank not being as important as it used to be. Well, I too agree to it to a degree but not entirely. And the reason for this article is to tell you why I don’t agree.
We know Google analyzes 200+ elements of a webpage while crawling and returning a result for a given search term and PageRank is one of them. While PR may not be the only player that Google considers most but it is still the most important player of all. Why? Soon you’ll find out.

What is Google PageRank or PR?
If you’re a webmaster then you may know what Google PageRank is and how it works. You may also know what important role it plays for your website. Even though most of us have an understanding of this technology, a lot of the time I’ve seen webmasters misinterpret it. Coming across so many of those misinterpretation, I finally thought I’ll explain it on my own words and give some official reference so that next time I see someone having slightest doubt about it I can then refer them to this article. I tried to write it in the simplest way possible so that people who aren’t familiar with this term or technology can understand it very easily. So, hopefully after reading this article you’ll know exactly what PR is and how it works.

Google To Shut Down Lively
A sad day at Google, specially for the team who worked really hard behind this project. But unfortunately that didn’t seem to happen as Google is shutting down this project by the end of the year. Lively, a browser-based virtual world environment which apparently was Google’s answer to Second Life was launched back in July, just about 4 months before where users were able to create their own virtual world.

Google Introduces Customized Themes for Gmail
Just logged in to my Gmail account to see a notification on Customized themes for Gmail. Which obviously changes the look and feel of the inside your Gmail account, much like iGoogle. But looks like this features isn’t available to all Gmail users. I’ve couple of Gmail accounts and I can only see one of them has gotten this feature so far. If this feature has been activated for you then you’ll see a notification as soon as you log into your Gmail.

Why Google Must Die. What!?!
Just finished reading this interesting article by John C. Dvorak at PC Magazine. After reading the article I felt like I just wasted my time. I am sorry but after reading the article I felt like the author doesn’t have any clue about SEO or how the whole technology works. He couldn’t prove any of his own points nor could he give any real life example. The author sounds like he doesn’t have any idea about Google’s different Data Centers and how that effects search results. Instead he was focusing his arguments on how the results may vary if you’re logged into your Google account. There’s also something called “Personalized Search” and I bet the author doesn’t have any clue about that either.

Google Releases Voice Recognition App for iPhone
Search Engine Giant Google has brought another iPhone application or rather added another very useful feature to its Mobile Application for iPhone & iPod Touch. The sophisticated voice recognition technology now allows users to speak to the iPhone to search for someting rather than typing. Once a voice query is made, the sound gets converted into a digital file and sent to Google’s servers, which then determines the words spoken and pass them along to the Google search engine and display the results back to the users.

Google Site Search Gets On-Demand Indexing
Google Site Search is on Steroids with the injection of its On-Demand Indexing. On-Demand Indexing brings even quicker searches and more relevant results. With this new features, you will be able to get your site content indexed instantly with “Index Now” option and your site content will be returned in the search results as LIFO (Last In First Out) basis. Meaning that the latest content will always be listed first. Great for publishers and bloggers and also good for websites which update their products and services very frequently.
